Denim and clothing remakes: a workplace project
The problem. Worn clothing is thrown out when the fabric is still strong. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are people who want to learn to make with discarded materials. What you start with. Worn clothing and denim. What is delivered. Pieces are unpicked and remade into bags, aprons or holders. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Items remade are counted. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Different fabrics need different machine settings. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
