Deals Colony is committed to operating a safe, respectful, ethical, and inclusive environment across all programs, memberships, pilots, workshops, and community initiatives. Our Code of Conduct forms part of our governance framework and applies to all participants, members, partners, and contributors.

By accessing or using the Deals Colony website, purchasing products, or participating in any programs, memberships, pilots, workshops, or community initiatives, you agree to comply with our Code of Conduct and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you and Deals Colony.

If you do not agree to abide by the Code of Conduct or these Terms & Conditions, you must not use this website or participate in our offerings.

1. About Deals Colony

Deals Colony is a purpose-led circular social enterprise operating in Australia.
We deliver educational programs, circular innovation pilots, wellbeing initiatives, surplus-to-service models, workshops, and community-based memberships designed to support inclusion, creativity, and sustainability.

2. Products and Services

Nature of Our Programs & Memberships - Educational & Participatory Purpose

All Deals Colony programs — including but not limited to:

  • Network memberships

  • Circular innovation pilots

  • Social impact projects

  • Youth and community programs

  • Workshops, labs, and mentoring

  • Surplus-to-service initiatives

are educational, collaborative, and participatory in nature.

They are not employment, investment products, professional services, or guaranteed outcome programs.

No Guaranteed Outcomes

Participation does not guarantee:

  • income

  • employment

  • funding

  • commercial success

  • emissions reduction results

  • ESG ratings

  • grants or approvals

  • personal, professional, or financial outcomes

Results depend on many factors including effort, context, external conditions, and partner participation.

Ethical & Circular Production

Deals Colony prioritises ethical sourcing, surplus reuse, and low-waste production. Products may incorporate reclaimed or surplus materials as part of our circular model.

​

Handmade & Small-Batch Products

Some products sold by Deals Colony are handmade, upcycled, repurposed, or produced in small batches. As a result, variations in colour, texture, size, materials, and finish may occur. These variations are a normal and expected part of ethical, circular, and handmade production and are not considered defects.

Product Use & Care

Products sold by Deals Colony are intended for general, non-specialist use only unless otherwise stated. Customers are responsible for following any care, storage, or usage instructions provided.

Deals Colony is not responsible for damage, misuse, or injury arising from improper use, modification, or failure to follow instructions.

Custom, Gift & Commercial Orders

Custom-made, personalised, bulk, or commercial gift orders are produced specifically for the purchaser and may not be cancelled or refunded once production has commenced, except as required under Australian Consumer Law.

Delivery & Risk

Risk in physical goods passes to the customer upon delivery. Deals Colony is not responsible for delays, loss, or damage caused by third-party delivery services, except where required by law.

3. Collaborative Network & 2-Year Pilot Participation

 

Membership Structure

Memberships or pilot participation:

  • provide access, learning, collaboration, tools, and community

  • may include optional workshops, mentoring, project design support, or pilot participation

  • do not guarantee delivery of a specific project, revenue, or measurable outcome

Participation levels may vary depending on:

  • availability of surplus

  • partner engagement

  • community capacity

  • safety, ethics, and feasibility considerations

Pilot Nature

All zero-waste network activities and circular pilots are experimental and iterative by design.
Projects may evolve, pause, or conclude based on learning, safety, resources, or alignment with our mission.

4. Sustainability & ESG Disclaimers

No Greenwashing or Absolute Claims

Deals Colony:

  • reports impact in good faith

  • uses pilot data, estimates, and qualitative measures

  • aligns with ESG, SDGs, ISSB, GRI, and TCFD frameworks where appropriate

However:

  • all sustainability data is indicative, not absolute

  • emissions reductions, circular outcomes, or ESG alignment cannot be guaranteed

  • impact reporting is contextual and evolving

Participation in our programs does not automatically confer ESG compliance, certification, or regulatory approval.

5. No Professional Advice

Deals Colony does not provide:

  • legal advice

  • financial advice

  • tax advice

  • investment advice

  • medical or mental health advice

All information is provided for general education and community learning purposes only.
You should seek independent professional advice before making decisions.

6. Earnings & Income Disclaimer

  • No income, revenue, or business success is guaranteed.

  • Any financial figures, case studies, or examples are illustrative only.

  • Outcomes vary based on participation, skills, timing, and external factors.

7. Participant Responsibilities

By participating, you agree to:

  • act ethically and respectfully

  • follow circular, sustainability, and safety guidelines

  • respect community members and shared resources

  • not misrepresent Deals Colony or its programs

We reserve the right to refuse participation where behaviour undermines safety, ethics, or community wellbeing.

8. Content, IP & Use of Materials

Our Intellectual Property

All content, tools, frameworks, and materials remain the intellectual property of Deals Colony unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, resell, or distribute materials without written permission.

Your Creations

Any original work you create remains yours.
However, you grant Deals Colony permission to reference non-confidential outcomes for impact reporting, storytelling on social media, or education (with care and respect).

9. Confidentiality & Privacy

Participants must respect:

  • confidential discussions

  • personal stories

  • commercially sensitive information

Unauthorised use of shared information is prohibited.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Deals Colony is not liable for losses, damages, or outcomes arising from participation

  • participation is at your own risk

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Refunds & Cancellations

  • Digital products and memberships are generally non-refundable.

  • Refunds will be provided where required by Australian Consumer Law.

  • Pilot changes or program evolution do not automatically entitle refunds.

 

12. Right to Suspend or Terminate

Deals Colony may suspend or terminate access if:

  • Terms are breached

  • behaviour harms community safety or integrity

  • misuse of materials or misrepresentation occurs

13. Privacy, Media & Participation

By participating in Deals Colony programs, events, memberships, pilots, or community initiatives, you acknowledge that images, recordings, testimonials, and non-sensitive participation details may be collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Participants may opt out of being featured in promotional or public-facing materials by notifying Deals Colony in writing prior to or during participation.

Unless stated otherwise, submissions are treated as non-confidential.
