Cultural craft workshop: a community organisation project

The problem. Cultural craft skills are rarely valued locally. Who it helps. A charity or community organisation delivering it, helping migrants and newcomers restarting their careers in Australia. What you start with. A craft tradition and a small group. What is delivered. A craft is taught in a community room, with permission and credit. Your organisation leads delivery with support from the Deals Colony team. How progress is known. Workshops run and makers credited are recorded. A short summary is shared with your board or members, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is a pathway to work, training or a first venture for the people taking part. Honest limits. Craft traditions are shared only with permission. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
