School garden produce stall: a workplace project
The problem. Students seldom see a plant from seed to stall. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A garden bed, seeds and a table. What is delivered. Students grow, harvest and sell plants at pick up time. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Plants grown and sold are counted. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Harvest depends on the weather and the holidays. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
