Rescued basket hampers: a council program

The problem. Baskets are given away unsorted and often wasted. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping small makers and gift sellers who want less packaging waste. What you start with. Donated baskets and trays. What is delivered. Baskets are cleaned, lined and filled to a seasonal theme. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Baskets reused and hampers made are counted. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. A mixed basket looks uneven without a clear theme. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
