Serving boards and turntables: a council program

The problem. Plain serving pieces are hard to sell without a story or a finish. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping small makers, stallholders and neighbours holding leftover stock. What you start with. Lazy susan turntables and serving boards. What is delivered. Each piece is cleaned, refinished and styled as a grazing board in a small test batch. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Boards finished and boards sold are recorded. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Food contact surfaces must be properly sealed and safe. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
