Stock to maker handover: a council program

The problem. Final stock is often sold cheaply or dumped. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping retiring owners and professionals who want to pass on what they know. What you start with. Leftover stock from a winding down business. What is delivered. Stock is passed to local makers for reuse. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Stock lots passed on are counted. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is a pathway to work, training or a first venture for the people taking part. Honest limits. Stock must be safe to resell. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
