Business studies mini venture: a workplace project

The problem. Business lessons stay on paper. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A business subject unit and a small budget. What is delivered. A class builds a product from a rescued material and tests it with their school community. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Steps from the plan completed are recorded. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. The venture is a lesson first and a business second. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
