Neighbourhood support network: a council program
The problem. Neighbours do not know who to call. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping neighbours who want a low pressure way to meet people. What you start with. A street or suburb contact list, with consent. What is delivered. Neighbours agree how to check in on each other and who to call for what. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Neighbours who joined are noted. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. It builds goodwill. It does not replace emergency services. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
