Shopping centre stand: a council program

The problem. Makers rarely reach shoppers. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping makers and neighbours who want to try a stall. What you start with. A small display and a short pitch. What is delivered. A stand is tested for a day with a simple way to follow up. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Visitors spoken to and sign ups are counted. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Centre rules, fees and timing apply. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
