Mini food court: a workplace project
The problem. Students seldom practise teamwork in a real small business. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A few simple, safe food ideas. What is delivered. Classes each run one stall, from menu to pricing to waste sorting. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Stalls run and waste sorted are recorded. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Food safety and allergy rules apply. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
