Unused space for community use: a school project

The problem. Rooms sit empty while local groups search for somewhere to meet. Who it helps. A school: school offices and student teams with unused resources, with a teacher in charge. What you start with. A spare meeting room, hall or corner of a workspace. What is delivered. A room is offered for a few community sessions, with a simple booking and house rules. It fits a school term, with the teacher in charge of timing and safety. How progress is known. Sessions held and groups hosted are counted. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Insurance, access and safety rules must be agreed first. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
