Three month apprenticeship style mentoring: a council program

The problem. Learners lack a patient teacher. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping retiring owners and professionals who want to pass on what they know. What you start with. An owner willing to teach and a learner. What is delivered. Weekly sessions pass on one skill at a time. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Sessions held and skills learned are recorded. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is a pathway to work, training or a first venture for the people taking part. Honest limits. Time and patience are needed on both sides. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet. Start with a free Initial Assessment for Your Idea.
