Shared market stall: a council program
The problem. One maker cannot cover a whole stall. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping makers and neighbours who want to try a stall. What you start with. Stock from two or three makers and a shared roster. What is delivered. The stall is shared across a few weekends. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Weekends run and items sold are recorded. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Shared stalls need clear agreements on stock and sales. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
