Points, ranking and rewards board: a council program

The problem. Children have little reason to swap screen time for skill time. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. What you start with. A simple points chart and a few small rewards. What is delivered. Points are earned for goals, kindness and learning, with a gentle ranking that celebrates effort. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Points earned and goals reached are tallied. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Rankings can discourage some children, so effort and teamwork count too. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
