Office e-waste reuse: a school project
The problem. Old office equipment is thrown out while it still works. Who it helps. A school: school offices and student teams with unused resources, with a teacher in charge. What you start with. Old office computers, phones and cables. What is delivered. Devices are checked, wiped by a qualified person and passed on or sent to a licensed recycler. It fits a school term, with the teacher in charge of timing and safety. How progress is known. Devices checked, reused or recycled are counted. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Data wiping must be done properly, and unsafe items go to licensed recyclers. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
