Points, ranking and rewards board: a community group project
The problem. Children have little reason to swap screen time for skill time. Who it helps. A community group working together, helping children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. What you start with. A simple points chart and a few small rewards. What is delivered. Points are earned for goals, kindness and learning, with a gentle ranking that celebrates effort. A small group works through it together, week by week. How progress is known. Points earned and goals reached are tallied. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Rankings can discourage some children, so effort and teamwork count too. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. Deals Colony has run or described this kind of project before, under Youth Leadership and Life Skills (HHHJ). Your version is a fresh trial and its results are not promised.
