Chores challenge: a council program

The problem. Screen time can crowd out time for chores and skills. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. What you start with. A household chore list and a points chart. What is delivered. A chore for a dollar style challenge is set up with a simple tracker for the first fortnight. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Chores done and goals met are ticked off on the tracker. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Money rewards can complicate family expectations, so goals are agreed first. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
