Assembly talk on circular ideas: a workplace project
The problem. Students rarely talk to their peers about waste and reuse. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A short slide set and a few students ready to speak. What is delivered. Students plan and give a ten minute talk to a year level. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Talks given and questions asked are recorded. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Speaking in front of peers is hard, so taking part is by choice. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
