Chores challenge: a community group project

The problem. Screen time can crowd out time for chores and skills. Who it helps. A community group working together, helping children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. What you start with. A household chore list and a points chart. What is delivered. A chore for a dollar style challenge is set up with a simple tracker for the first fortnight. A small group works through it together, week by week. How progress is known. Chores done and goals met are ticked off on the tracker. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Money rewards can complicate family expectations, so goals are agreed first. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. Deals Colony has run or described this kind of project before, under Youth Leadership and Life Skills (HHHJ). Your version is a fresh trial and its results are not promised.
