Tuckshop waste check: a workplace project

The problem. Schools do not know what ends up in their bins. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A week of tuckshop bins and a tally sheet. What is delivered. Students sort and count waste and suggest two or three changes. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Waste sorted by type is tallied. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Findings are about habits, not blame. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
