Business studies mini venture: a council program

The problem. Business lessons stay on paper. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping teachers, students and parents in a school community. What you start with. A business subject unit and a small budget. What is delivered. A class builds a product from a rescued material and tests it with their school community. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Steps from the plan completed are recorded. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. The venture is a lesson first and a business second. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
