Event leftovers rescue: a workplace project
The problem. Event materials are thrown out after one day. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are people who run or work in small offices, workspaces and event teams. Staff take part voluntarily, outside performance reviews. What you start with. Banners, signs, props and decor after an event. What is delivered. Materials are collected, sorted and offered to makers, schools and groups. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Material lots collected and reused are counted. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Items must be safe, and any logos are covered or agreed first. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
