Goal vial and wish list: a workplace project
The problem. Goals stay vague, so children lose track of them. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. Employees take part as supervised adult helpers with a youth group, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. Small jars, paper strips and a set of goals. What is delivered. Each child writes goals on strips and tracks progress with a visible jar. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Goals written and goals reached are tallied. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Goals stay small enough to feel reachable. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
