Litter pick up with a marine education partner: a council program
The problem. Students hear about litter but rarely count and sort it. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping teachers, students and parents in a school community. What you start with. Bags, gloves and a safe local area. What is delivered. Students collect and sort litter, count what they find and share it in an assembly. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Items collected and sorted are tallied. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Safety comes before collection. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
