Fabric scrap patchwork: a council program
The problem. Scraps are discarded because they seem too small to use. Who it helps. A council or library team hosting it, helping people who want to learn to make with discarded materials. What you start with. Clean fabric scraps. What is delivered. Squares are cut, arranged and stitched into small patchwork pieces. A community officer hosts it with local partners and follows progress. How progress is known. Pieces finished are counted. A short summary is shared with the council, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Hand stitching is slow and finishing takes patience. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
