Staff time for community projects: a school project

The problem. Good intentions to volunteer rarely turn into a plan people can join. Who it helps. A school: school offices and student teams with unused resources, with a teacher in charge. What you start with. A few hours of staff time and a clear community brief. What is delivered. Staff give a few hours to one small project, matched to their skills. It fits a school term, with the teacher in charge of timing and safety. How progress is known. Hours given and tasks finished are recorded. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Taking part is voluntary. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
