Fabric scrap patchwork: a school project

The problem. Scraps are discarded because they seem too small to use. Who it helps. A school: students learning to make with discarded materials, with a teacher in charge. What you start with. Clean fabric scraps. What is delivered. Squares are cut, arranged and stitched into small patchwork pieces. It fits a school term, with the teacher in charge of timing and safety. How progress is known. Pieces finished are counted. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Hand stitching is slow and finishing takes patience. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
