The problem. Newcomers want to practise English and have skills to give back. Who it helps. A community group working together, helping migrants and newcomers restarting their careers in Australia. What you start with. Two people who each have a skill to share. What is delivered. Pairs swap an hour of language practice for an hour of a skill. A small group works through it together, week by week. How progress is known. Swaps completed are noted. Main purpose. The main purpose is a pathway to work, training or a first venture for the people taking part. Honest limits. Both people must be comfortable with the arrangement.
