Reusable pack assembly: a community organisation project
The problem. Assembly work is hard to find for people who need a gentle start. Who it helps. A charity or community organisation delivering it, helping people facing barriers to paid work, with the organisations that support them. What you start with. Reusable bags, wraps and inserts. What is delivered. A simple assembly line is set up around the steps each person prefers. Your organisation leads delivery with support from the Deals Colony team. How progress is known. Packs assembled and training hours are recorded. A short summary is shared with your board or members, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is a pathway to work, training or a first venture for the people taking part. Honest limits. Quality checks must be built in without singling anyone out. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. Deals Colony has run or described this kind of project before, under Zero-Waste Gifting; Inclusive Workshops. Your version is a fresh trial and its results are not promised.
