Fundraiser market day: a workplace project

The problem. Students learn about money in theory but rarely run a real stall. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are teachers, students and parents in a school community. Employees take part as supervised adult mentors for a class, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. Tables, student made items and a cause. What is delivered. Students make, price and sell items at a school market, with proceeds going to a chosen cause. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Items made and funds raised are written down. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Handling money needs adult oversight and simple records. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
