Points, ranking and rewards board: a workplace project

The problem. Children have little reason to swap screen time for skill time. Who it helps. A workplace team backing the project. The people helped are children aged 8 to 14 and their parents. Employees take part as supervised adult helpers with a youth group, outside normal performance reviews. What you start with. A simple points chart and a few small rewards. What is delivered. Points are earned for goals, kindness and learning, with a gentle ranking that celebrates effort. A named team lead runs it alongside normal work, and taking part is voluntary. How progress is known. Points earned and goals reached are tallied. A short summary is shared with your team, with names and personal details left out. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Rankings can discourage some children, so effort and teamwork count too. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
