Rescued carton gift boxes: a school project

The problem. Good cartons are crushed when they could be used again. Who it helps. A school: students designing low waste packs, with a teacher in charge. What you start with. Clean leftover cartons from a stocktake. What is delivered. Cartons are measured, re-cut and fitted with simple inserts for a small run of gift boxes. It fits a school term, with the teacher in charge of timing and safety. How progress is known. Cartons reused and boxes completed are counted. Main purpose. The main purpose is access to a useful product or service, or less waste going to landfill, for the community. Honest limits. Cartons that held food or chemicals are not reused. Child safe practice applies: parent or guardian permission, adult supervision, privacy protection and an inclusive setting. Items are described accurately, in line with Australian consumer law, and custom made or refurbished items are disclosed. Ownership of your idea stays with you, and no job, funding or contract is promised. Track record. This is a new idea built on work Deals Colony has already documented. It has not been run yet.
