💡 WHO WE ARE

Deals Colony is a North Brisbane–based social enterprise, founded in 2014 by Monika K—an experienced IT consultant and certified business strategist. We team up with purpose-driven partners to create sustainable, scalable ventures and grant-ready projects that make a real difference—economically, socially, and environmentally. Using digital tools and our “One Brand, Many Stories” model, we turn ideas into action. Our mission is to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity—supporting ventures that grow confidence, improve mental wellbeing, and strengthen inclusive communities.

🚧 The Problem We Solve

Community-led initiatives and purpose-driven groups face barriers like:

  • Limited digital access, unclear growth strategies

  • Burnout from multiple responsibilities, capacity constraints (time, money, resources)

  • Underdeveloped, unscalable business models

These obstacles keep great ideas from creating lasting impact.

We address these gaps through:

  • Inclusive mentoring, digital-first tools

  • Wellbeing-focused planning, capacity-building

  • Co-designed pilot projects, MVP validation, and storytelling—turning early-stage ideas into sustainable, fundable ventures.

📊 Why This Matters

If changemakers across cultures and generations—who face challenges like limited digital access, burnout from time or resource & limited budget constraints, and unclear growth strategies—gain skills, confidence, and capacity through our support to develop low-waste, purpose-led solutions, they can turn early ideas into fundable, inclusive ventures that support meaningful work and wellbeing.

This isn’t just a possibility—it’s a response to real, urgent need: According to the 2021 ABS Census, over 34,800 people in Brisbane, 138,700 in Queensland, and 646,000 nationally were unemployed and actively seeking meaningful work. By 2023, more than 740,000 Australians aged 16–64 were receiving JobSeeker, costing taxpayers $15,749 per person annually (Deloitte, 2023). In Queensland, 1 in 5 people reported a mental or behavioural condition as early as 2017–18 (ABS National Health Survey), highlighting the deep connection between wellbeing and economic participation. These figures reveal more than a challenge—they uncover a powerful innovation pipeline.

Our programs turn this potential into:

Circular, inclusive entrepreneurship

Mental & financial wellbeing

Local economic resilience

⚙️ How We Work

We embed Theory of Change in every project to ensure clarity, purpose, and measurable impact. ToC maps the journey from intent (your why: ideas and purpose) through action (your how: co-created strategies) to real outcomes (your what: opportunities—short, medium, and long term).

Our Theory of Change:

Inputs → Ideas (Hobbies, Lived Experience & Passions), Trusted Networks, Digital-First Tools

Activities → Collaborative Actions (Pilot Projects, Workshops, Capacity Building programs—Digital & Strategy, Brand Building, Storytelling, Mentoring)

Outputs → Short-Term Outcomes (MVPs, Sustainable Micro-Businesses & Side Hustles, Grant-Ready Projects, Passion-Led Portfolios)

Outcomes → Medium-Term Outcomes (Confidence, Skill-Building, Capacity Building—Digital Readiness, Circular & Barter-Based Exchange)

Impact → Long-Term Outcomes (Purposeful Ventures, Meaningful Work, Mental Wellbeing, Thriving, Inclusive Communities—where no story, skill, or resource is wasted.)

Testimonial

I had a great experience working with Deals Colony for setting up my charity. They were extremely helpful, professional, and truly dedicated to the work. The team was well-organised, methodical, and passionate about helping us succeed.
What really stood out was how they took the time to understand our vision, goals, and objectives. They created a clear 12-month plan covering everything from products and services to resourcing, volunteering, and using social media to reach our audience.
Deals Colony made a real difference, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for business setup consultancy!
